University of Mass Dartmouth Cedar Dell Complex – Phase I and II

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth renovated the Cedar Dell Dormitories—a fast track design-build renovation, in two phases with completion in the winter of 2008.

Phase I and II both consisted of the renovation of an 804-Bed housing complex at the UMD Campus. Renovations included exterior upgrades such as new shingle roofs, entry doors, HardiPlank siding, gutters and downspouts and structural repairs to the existing framing. Interior renovations included upgraded finishes such as new carpet and tiled floors, newly painted walls and ceilings, and renovated kitchens and bathrooms.

Mechanical upgrades included new boilers, water heaters, controls and radiation.  Electrical upgrades included enhanced lighting, GFCI outlets, fire alarm system and data.  A new sprinkler system was added throughout the complex and in all of the apartments.
